The Dalip Singh Saund Award for Political Leadership is to be given to Indian-American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi.
WFY Bureau US: The Dalip Singh Saund Award for political leadership has been given to Indian-American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi in honour of his “exemplary commitment to advancing the interests of Asian-American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities in Congress.” Krishnamoorthi received the Political Leadership Award from the Asian American Unity Coalition (AAUC) during a recent event. The first Sikh Indian-American to be elected to Congress was Saund.
“I am grateful to the Asian-American Unity Coalition for this honour and for its continued leadership in bringing together Asian-Americans of all backgrounds to build a more inclusive nation,” Krishnamoorthi said in a statement issued on Thursday. “As we work to expand the promise of the American Dream to every American community, I am honoured to join my colleagues in carrying on the example of Congressman Saund,” he stated.
The AAUC The Asian-American and Native Hawaiian-Pacific Islander (AANHPI) groups, which include Indian, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, and Polynesian Americans, among others, are represented by the AAUC, a coalition made up of numerous nonprofit organisations and lifetime members. The media announcement stated that the AAUC serves as a unifying force dedicated to resolving the distinct needs and difficulties faced by AANHPI individuals and organisations across the United States through its purpose to advocate for and improve these different communities. Krishnamoorthi’s victory is evidence of his commitment to serving the Asian-American community. He is an inspiration to all of us, and his effort has significantly improved the lives of numerous people.
