Launching The Best Indian-Made Brands That Halsey Wore

Over the weekend, Lollapalooza India 2024, a music event, featured a lineup of well-known performers and international legends, including Sting and the Jonas brothers. For those who appreciate fashion, however, the performers’ exquisitely tailored costumes were a visual feast. One such moment that stuck in our memories was when American singer-songwriter Halsey gave a performance while sporting an exquisite fusion-wear ensemble.

At Mumbai’s Lollapalooza 2024, Halsey not only dazzled the crowd with her performance but also left a lasting impact with her sense of style. During her time in India, the singer experimented with Indian brands for her on- and off-stage looks, collaborating with Anamika Khanna and Arpita Mehta.

Even though Halsey is just 29 years old, she already understands the need to maintain equilibrium between her ego and her alter ego and how to change without losing your original identity. “Remember that this is what the outside world perceives, right? I used to be Ashley, a girl from New Jersey, but now I’m the tattooed rock sensation known as Halsey. My name was the simplest of all. They remember, “I lived in the most boring place.” “I felt like a total nobody. When we relocated to New York after I graduated from high school at the age of 17, I realised I didn’t want to be one of the seven Ashleys in my class.

For her onstage debut, Halsey opted for a crop top from Saaksha & Kinni. Rockstar flair was epitomised by the traditional Gujarati crop top decorated with mirrorwork and thread, worn with a plaid skirt.

Designer Saaksha Bhat says, “We decided to go with an elaborately hand-embroidered blouse, accentuated with intricate threadwork, strategically placed mirrors, and metallic threads. The brief for Halsey was to light the stage on fire.” The goal of these design components was to maximise light reflection. Vibrant pink and red, two colours frequently associated with Indian culture, were included with a nod to the artist’s inclination for deeper tones. Given that the clothing was intended only for a stage, we were quite eager to try out bold embroidery, and we adored how she pulled the look off.

Lyn Alison and Shereen Sikka dressed the singer, who paired her rock-chic ensemble with Tribe Amrapali jewellery. From the new range of jewellery by the firm, she selected the Silver Multi Mirror Zig Zag Cuff and the Silver Peridot Pearl Drop Earrings. CEO of Amrapali Akanksha Arora remarked, “Halsey seamlessly blended our heritage and craftsmanship with her own bold and modern style, making her Lollapalooza 2024 look one for the books.”

A day before her show, Halsey opted for a more subdued appearance off-stage, donning a gorgeously draped, pre-stitched tiered sari in flowing georgette by Arpita Mehta. She accessorised the ensemble with a lovely hand-pleated blouse, which accentuated its ethereal charm. Stunning jewellery from Isharya and a striking potli bag from Fizzy Goblet completed the look perfectly.

Halsey combined her off-stage and on-stage identities in a unique Anamika Khanna ensemble for her last indigenous ensemble. The combination of striking cuts, delicate lace, and creatively draped translucent fabric created the ideal ensemble for an off-duty rock star. To finish the ensemble, Halsey selected a pair of heels from Fizzy Goblet.
