Will Rishi Sunak’s be the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom if Boris Johnson resigns?
Prime Minister of Britain, Boris Johnson’s is sailing troubled waters especially after Sue Gray submitted a report on a rally held in Downing Street when the rest of the country was blocked.
His worries are not over, even after apologizing at the House of Commons, as not only the opposition but some members of his own party are demanding his resignation.
If Prime Minister Johnson resigns over this, the next in line to succeed him is Rishi Sunak from India. If this happens, it will be historic turn of events. Rishi who has roots in India, which once was under the British rule now becoming its Prime Minister.
Who is Rishi Sunak?
Rishi Sunak’s parents hails from Punjab, India. He is from a Punjabi Hindu family. Yashveer Sunak and Usha Sunak are his parents. The family migrated to England long ago. After graduating, he worked for Goldman Sachs and later as a partner to the hedge fund company The Children’s Investment Fund Management and Cerem Partners. Even Rishi has a famous relative in India. He is the son-in-law of Narayan Murthy, co-founder of Indian software company Infosys. His wife, Akshata Murthy, is the daughter of Narayan Murthy. Rishi and Akshata have two daughters.
Rishi Sunak co-founded a £1 billion global investment company, specializing in investing in small UK businesses prior to entering politics. Rishi, a Member of Parliament from Yorkshire, joined the British Parliament for the first time in 2015 and quickly moved up the ranks of the Tories.
Sunak made history in February 2020 when he was appointed to the post of the most important British Cabinet as the first Prime Minister of the Ministry of Finance of Indian Heritage.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson is becoming more and more unpopular even within the ranks of his own party, this may lead to Rishi Sunak creating a new history of Indians in Britain.
