Sridevi, who was born on August 13, 1963, in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, began her acting career when she was just four years old. She made her film debut in 1969’s Tamil film “Thunaivan,” where she quickly became known for her natural talent and charisma on screen. Her entry into Bollywood in 1979 with “Solva Saavan” signalled the beginning of a successful career that would completely alter the face of Indian cinema.

Sridevi’s extraordinary talent for flitting between a variety of roles and genres without a hitch solidified her place among the most versatile actresses in the history of Indian cinema. Sridevi nailed every role she took on, whether it was in a heartbreaking tragedy or a hilarious comedy.
