Kunal Sharangi was recognised by the Federation of Indians Association for his outstanding contributions to education, health, and social welfare for Jharkhand youth through his unique initiative. Somnath Ghosh, Consul General of India in Chicago, presented him with the award during a ceremony at the Chicago Matrix Club.
Several dignitaries attended the event, including Sunil Shah, Chairman of the Federation of Indian Associations 2024, President Pratibha Jayrath, and Vineeta Gulabani. The ceremony also featured numerous accomplished Indian residents of Chicago who had received recognition in a variety of fields. The event honoured Indian-origin scientists, doctors, athletes, musicians, and others who had achieved recognition and success in a variety of fields in different countries.
Dozens of talented students from various countries received scholarships. During the ceremony, Kunal Sharangi expressed gratitude for the honour and dedicated it to the people of Jamshedpur and Jharkhand. He acknowledged the inspiration he received to serve during the COVID period and thanked everyone who helped him complete his mission during those trying times.
Kunal stated, “I dedicate this esteemed recognition to the people of Jharkhand.” I am grateful to everyone who joined me in helping people during the difficult COVID times. I am extremely proud of my country and its citizens, both in India and abroad, who have achieved global esteem and recognition through sheer talent in a variety of fields. I am proud to say that more than forty lakh Indians living in America have had a significant impact on cultural, economic, political, and social systems.
Kunal emphasised the positive state of India-US relations and praised the recognition and encouragement received for the work of Indian social workers in America. He expressed confidence that young people will participate more in American politics in the future. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership with India’s becoming the world’s fifth-largest economy and moving closer to becoming a global leader.
