According to recent reports, more than seven in ten (77 percent) of smart device users in India consider chipset capabilities when purchasing a new smart device. According to a new report released on Wednesday, they believe it is extremely important in influencing their device experience.
According to the Counterpoint Research report, smart device users rate performance (76 percent), gaming and graphics capabilities (66 percent), and 5G connectivity (62 percent) as the top three features dependent on chipset capabilities.

In terms of brands, the report shows that 61 percent of respondents in India were aware of MediaTek’s chipsets used in smart devices.
MediaTek was reported to be the world’s leading smartphone chipset brand in Q3 2023, with a 31 percent market share.
The Taiwan-based company creates systems-on-chips (SoCs) for mobile, home entertainment, connectivity, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, as well as other key technology areas.
