Anthem Of Hope

A Poem By Rema Pisharody  | Art & Culture | The WFY Magazine, January, 2026 Anniversary Edition

Mirror that reflects a smile,
Skillfully hides a teardrop
Frozen an ocean
Beneath the clasping waves.
How well the ornamental frames
Polishes a droplet
Of sorrow into a coronet
Chisels the edges of a year
That is all set to go
Players arrive holding
Trumpets and saxophones
To say farewell to a night
That climbs the centre pillar
To tick a bell twelve times
Mist covers the empty space
Like a requiem song
That none sees what is buried
Along the castle pebbles
A book that is empty, a gift indeed
To fill with the souvenir of life
With an *anthem of hope
A mirror
To a fresh leaf of life
