Manama, Bahrain- The Indo Bahrain Dance and Music Festival at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam witnessed a night of pure musical enchantment as acclaimed vocalist Vijay Yesudas took center stage in a classical and semi-classical concert that left the audience spellbound.
The festival, running at the BKS Diamond Jubilee Hall, is a celebration of the rich cultural texture that binds India and Bahrain together.
Vijay Yesudas, known for his soul-stirring renditions and versatile vocal prowess, captivated the crowd with his melodious interpretations of classical and semi-classical music.
As the evening unfolded, the audience was treated to a musical journey like no other, as Vijay Yesudas’s powerful vocals intertwined with the intricate melodies of classical and semi-classical pieces, leaving a lasting impact on all those present.
Tonight, (May 8), the festival on its sith day, will feature a captivating performance by the father-daughter duo, P Unnikrishnan and Uthara, who will render a classical and semi-classical concert.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 7.30 PM at the same venue.The BKS Indo Bahrain Dance and Music Festival is a testament to the strong cultural bonds between Bahrain and India, and the power of music and dance to unite people across borders.
Supported by the Indian Embassy and the Bahrain Authority of Culture and Antiquities, the festival is a brainchild of the founder of Soorya, the acclaimed stagecraft and Indian director, Soorya Krishnamoorthy.
The lineup of programmes in the coming days are as follows:
• May 9: Dance combination featuring Vidya Pradeep, Anitha, Priyadarshini Govind, and Vidhya Subramanian.
• May 10: Carnatic classical Violin recital by Dr. L Subrahmaniam.The festival is open to all and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure their seats, said organisers.
