2022 Thiruvappana Mahotsavam Held in Bahrain

Bahrain Sree Muthappan Seva Sangham, in association with Star Vision Event Management Company, organised THIRUVAPPANA MAHOTSAVAM 2022, a programme portraying the rich culture and heritage of Kerala. On December 16 and 17, 2022, the programme was held at the Jashanmal Auditorium on the Indian School of Isa Town campus. Seven leading artists were flown in from Kerala to perform during these two days. A total of approximately 10,000 people showed up to watch their performances.

The event began on Friday with the hoisting of the flag by Indian School Chairman Sri Prince Natarajan.


Along with the event, an award ceremony was also conducted where leading social worker and Pravasi Legal Cell Bahrain Country Head, also Indian Diaspora Ambassador, Sri Sudheer Thirunilath, was felicitated with the MADAPPURA SEVA SRESHTA AWARD for his contribution in the social sector. A famous Chenda percussionist from Bahrain, Sri Santhosh Kailas, was felicitated with MADAPPURA KALA SRESHTA AWARD for his exceptional contribution to the Chenda art form.

Several cultural events were also arranged, along with sumptuous meals (ANNADANAM) for all those who came to the venue. Sree Muthappan Seva Sangham was established in 2018, and in 2019, the first Thiruvappana Maholsavam was conducted. After a two-year hiatus, the same festival was held on a larger scale this year.

Sree Muthappan Seva Sangham President Sri Sunesh Sasco and General Secretary Sri Rithin Raj thanked all the sponsors, volunteers, and devotees for extending their support to conduct the festival in a very successful manner.
