Strengthening New Arts Collaboration Across Borders
Four projects will receive approximately $500,000 in Australian government funding through the International Cultural Diplomacy Arts Fund. The projects seek to foster connections between Australian creatives and their international counterparts, thereby increasing global opportunities for Australian artists and introducing diverse audiences to new works both here and abroad.
The successful projects include:
$225,000 to the Adelaide Film Festival to support an international exchange with the Indonesian Jogja NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF), thereby strengthening ties between the Australian and Indonesian film industries.
$119,340 to cover the travel costs of Little Amal, a giant, partially animated puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee child, to Adelaide Festival audiences.
$70,000 to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to help fund a reciprocal residency exchange programme with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
$58,466 to support Communicating, Convening, and Commoning, a collaborative exhibition featuring several First Nations artists and organised by the Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art, the Seoul Museum of Art, and the Singapore Art Museum.
