Beautiful Onam celebration Surges up at BKS

The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) is all set to kick off the festive spirit of Onam with the official inauguration of ‘Shravanam 2023’ on Thursday, July 7th, 2023, at the BKS DJ Hall.


The distinguished Member of Indian Parliament, NK Premachandran, will have the honour of lighting the ceremonial lamp and inaugurating the festivities at 8 p.m. on this auspicious day. ‘Shravanam 2023,’ acclaimed as the world’s largest Onam extravaganza outside Kerala, had a soft opening on August 3rd and has been captivating audiences ever since, said BKS President PV Radhakrishna Pillai and BKS General Secretary Varghese Karakkal in a press note.

The inaugural day will feature ‘Thiruvona Pulari,’ a mesmerising instrumental fusion performance led by renowned instrumentalists Subhash Cherthala, flute; Sreekumar Kalabhavan, keyboard; PS Narendran, violin; Rajeev Kallada and Iqbal, tabla; and Kalakshethra Joji, guitar.

On Friday, July 8th, the illustrious South Indian Youngster’s Band, ‘Masala Coffee,’ is poised to set the BKS stage ablaze. The 14-member crew, performing in Bahrain for the first time, promises a scintillating performance with their full lineup. BKS officials are pleased to welcome the public to join and relish the festivities.

The BKS Executive Committee invites all music enthusiasts to join the Mega Onam programme by BKS.
