The Texas State Capitol will come alive with bright colours, captivating performances, and a fusion of cultures as the 2023 Indian Parade takes centre stage on August 12, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Organised by Monsoon Dance in association with the Indian Cultural Association of Texas (ICAT), this major event promises to be a spectacle of sights and sounds, inviting members of the press to explore the rich heritage and experience and celebrate the diversity of India.
The Indian Parade is an annual cultural extravaganza that showcases the essence of India and offers the people of Texas a unique opportunity to experience the country’s traditions, art, music, and cuisine in the heart of Austin.
This year, the event is expected to be bigger and more spectacular than ever before, attracting more participants.
The event starts at 10:00 a.m. and will bring together the Texas Native American community along with civic leaders from the city and state who are proudly gathered in the iconic Texas State Capitol building.
Participants will witness a vivid display of Indian heritage, including traditional dress, folk dances, and ceremonial performances.
An immersive cultural show takes place on the grounds of the Texas State Capitol, featuring various dance forms, live drums, and shows representing the different regions of India. Arts and Crafts Exhibition.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of Indian Arts and Crafts stalls where they can purchase exquisite handicrafts, paintings, jewellery, and textiles, all showcasing the art of Indian artisans.
Delicious Indian Cuisine: The event will feature a delicious array of Indian delicacies, allowing attendees to savour the authentic flavours of Indian cuisine, prepared by expert chefs competing for the title of Masala Chef.
The goal of the 2023 Indian Parade is to promote cultural exchange and diversity and strengthen ties between the Indian community and our Texas neighbours.
