KRAFTON’s India-first Approach: Announced A Whopping Investment Of $150m Now
Krafton will invest $150 million in the Indian startup sector over the next two to three years. It had already contributed $140 million since March 2021 to 11 Indian businesses. Focus on content-based platforms and deep tech are key investment areas, along with gaming and related divisions.
KRAFTON, Inc., the leading South Korean gaming company and producer of the BGMI, intends to invest $150 million in India over the following two to three years. As part of its India-first strategy, Krafton will assist the gaming sector’s comprehensive growth in the coming years and invest in the Indian start-up ecosystem. Since its first investment in March 2021, Krafton claim to have made investments of more than $140 million in 11 creative Indian start-ups.

The goal of Krafton is to create strategic value through the utilisation of its expertise in the markets it invests in, which extends beyond purely financial gains. Beyond game development studios, the corporation has a wide range of allied business activities, including eSports, multimedia entertainment, content creation, and audio platforms.
Recently, Krafton broadened its scope to include deep technology and the creator economy, actively supporting start-ups in these emerging fields. Through this investment, KRFATON aims to foster innovation, cultivate local talent, and propel India to the top of the global gaming market.

The Callisto Protocol, Road To Valour: Empires, and the most recent release, Defence Derby, are the other three games that KRAFTON has released in the past year, in addition to India’s popular battle royale game, Battlegrounds Mobile India. By making its planned investments, Krafton claims it hopes to transform the gaming industry in India, opening up new vistas and improving players’ experiences all around the country.
