You need to see the ‘Great Indian Travel Bazaar’ To Be Held By The Raj Government.
During the event, the state government intends to display its tourism infrastructure.
To encourage travel to the state, the Rajasthan tourism department is organizing the thirteenth Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) in Jaipur from May 5–7.
Together with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Tourism Ministry of the Center, the department is organizing the event.During the event, the state government intends to display its tourism infrastructure.
According to a representative of the state tourist agency, “the state would showcase cultural events based on art, tourism, and the history of Rajasthan.”During the event, visitors will be able to enjoy Rajasthani cuisine.
The first day of the event will feature a “Wed in India Expo,” according to Rajasthan’s tourism director, Rashmi Sharma, who also revealed the itinerary.According to Sharma, the expo’s goal is to persuade visitors—both domestic and foreign—to get married in Rajasthan.
There will be business-to-business meetings with overseas tour operators on the second and third days of the event.
From May 8, they will also be able to take tours around Rajasthan. The Rajasthani tourism sector recently made the decision to step up efforts to grow the market for destination weddings.
Travel agency Gaurav Khandelwal, located in Jaipur, stated, “We are ready to work with the government in this direction, and GITB has come at the right time.”According to Bhavani Shankar Mali, general secretary of the Rajasthan-based All Wedding Industries Federation, between 1.5 and 2 million marriages occur there annually.
Twenty-five percent of these are low-income marriages. Twenty percent of marriages have high budgets (up to Rs 50 lakh), compared to fifty percent that have medium budgets (up to Rs 10 lakh). The cost of a marriage ranges from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 3 crore in 5–7% of cases. It can even go up to Rs 5 to Rs 10 crore in certain instances.“In such a scenario, Rajasthan can be promoted as a destination wedding place if efforts are made jointly by the tourism sector and the state government.
This might lead to a five- to ten-percent rise in destination weddings. Many thousands of people will have access to new job prospects if the number of destination weddings in the state rises.
In addition, the government will receive cash, and those connected to the hotel and tourism industries will benefit from strong business.
