BKS Film Club to Host Award Night and Short Film Festival
In an exciting celebration of cinematic talent, the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam Film Club is gearing up for its much-anticipated Awards Night and Short Film Festival, scheduled for Friday, March 1, 2024.A total of twenty-two short films crafted by Bahraini expatriate artists have been selected for competition, promising a diverse and engaging showcase of creativity.
A distinguished panel of judges, comprising renowned figures in the film industry, including esteemed film director and FEFKA Directors’ Union General Secretary, G. S. Vijayan, accomplished cinematographer and director, Vipin Mohan, and the multi-talented director, art director, and member of the Kerala State Film Awards Committee, Roy P. Thomas, will judge the short films and choose the winners across various categories, encompassing best film, writing, direction, cinematography, film editing, actor, and actress.
The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam Diamond Jubilee Hall will serve as the venue for the screening of the competition films, commencing at 5 pm on Friday, March 1.Mr P. V. Radhakrishna Pillai, President of Samajam, and Varghese Karakkal, General Secretary, expressed their enthusiasm for the event in a recent press release. They also announced the esteemed presence of celebrated film director, Sibi Malayil, as the chief guest for the award night.In addition to honouring the outstanding achievements of the competition winners, the audience will also play a vital role in the festivities.
