India tops list of visa recipients to Canada in 2022.

So far, in 2022, Canada has seen 108,000 new immigrants, and a majority of them are believed to be Indians.

The number of Indians wanting to migrate to Canada both to study and for work has been steadily increasing in the past few years. The Canadian government too is inviting immigrants with many new plans, and this makes it an attractive package to migrate to Canada.

In the beginning of the year, Canada had announced that it plans to admit 432,000 new immigrants in 2022. The year before, in 2021, as per the figures released by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), about 622,000 foreign students had been given study permit visa by December 31, 2021, of which 217,410 were Indian students.

This year, the Indian Parliament has been informed that as of March 20, 2022, a total of 1,33,135 Indian students have gone abroad for higher studies.

Last year about 100,000 Indians became permanent residents of Canada. In fact, Canada is becoming a popular destination for Indians looking to migrate. According to a study by the National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP), in the last five years, the number of Indians who became permanent residents of Canada increased by 115 per cent.
