New: Important UNION MINISTER SMRITI IRANI IS IN SAUDI ARABIA

Ms. Smriti Zubin Irani, Union Minister of Women, Child Development, and Minority Affairs, arrived in Saudi Arabia today for a two-day visit. V. Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, will also accompany her on the visit.

Ms. Irani is leading a delegation to sign and exchange the bilateral Haj Agreement 2024 in Jeddah. This occasion will also include a bilateral meeting between Minister Irani and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Haj and Umrah Affairs, H.E. Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah.

 The discussions will revolve around mutual interests, with a focus on issues related to the upcoming Haj in 2024.

The delegation will also engage with the Indian business community and diaspora in Saudi Arabia to strengthen ties. Ms. Irani will attend the opening ceremony of the third edition of the ‘Haj and Umrah Conference’ in Jeddah, which is being organized by the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah Affairs.

 The Indo-Saudi partnership, which has grown in recent years, will be strengthened even further during this visit, which will include ongoing engagement in a variety of sectors.

 The Haj pilgrimage’s strategic importance is highlighted, emphasizing its role as a critical component in the two countries’ relationship.

This visit will serve as a testament to India and Saudi Arabia’s growing diplomatic ties, reaffirming their commitment to cooperation and collaboration.
