Oscar Drama, Will Smith slapped Chris Rock over a joke on his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith; was it scripted or genuine?
Rock was on stage to present the best documentary prize, he was onto the act with a short comedy routine. He was trying all these at the expense of Jada Pinkett Smith. He joked that her cropped hair was similar to Demi Moore’s appearance in the movie G.I Jane. He went a step further adding that she should appear in the sequel.
There was a moment of awkward silence after this. Suddenly, Will Smith stormed the stage and slapped Rock across the face. He was in mood to take such a derogatory comment from Rock about his wife Jada. The Dolby Theatre was in complete silence and echoed confusion. Will Smith returned to his seat alongside Jada but continued hurling profanities. “Keep my wife’s name out of your f*****g mouth,” charged Smith.
