THE beautiful and Vibrant Shravana Mahotsav 2023

Presented by Megamart BMC, the Evertech Shravana Festival 2023 kicked off with a flag hoisting ceremony. The main sponsors are Qatar Engineering Laboratory, National Fire & Safety, Al Rabeeh Medical Centre, Almarai, Global Medical Engineering Company WLL, Evertech Contracting, Al Hilal Hospitals and Medical Centre, and Kerala Galaxy Bahrain. The Onam celebration was marked by the presence of distinguished personalities and public participation.

This year’s Shravana Mahotsav 2023, a 30-day Onam celebration organised by Bahrain Media City in collaboration with various organisations and associations in Bahrain, began with a flag-raising ceremony at the BMC Auditorium in Segaya on Saturday, August 26 at 7:30 p.m. The procession with talapoli and chendamela held at this event enthralled the audience. Followed by the pooja dance, and then the Shravana Mahotsavam title song was performed. Like last year, more than a thousand labourers from various labour camps in Bahrain will be given free Onasadya as part of Shravana Mahotsav 2023.

The Onappanthal for this year’s Onam feast is also set.

Indian Embassy Second Secretary Ijaz Aslam was the Chief Guest; Capital Governorate Information and Follow-Up Director Yusuf Yakub Lori and ICRF Vice Chairman Adv. VK Thomas were the special guests.

Besides, Kerala Galaxy Group President Vijayan Karumala, Aji P. Joy, and many other prominent personalities were also present. Then the lamp was lit by all the special guests.

Programme Committee Chairman Moni Otikandil delivered the welcome speech. Bahrain Media City Chairman and Managing Director Francis Kaitharath presided over the event. Then the latest edition of The Lead Magazine, published by Bahrain Media City, was released by the Chief Guest of the ceremony and the Second Secretary of the Indian Embassy, Ihjaz Aslam.

Then the 200 Onasadya kits given to the workers by the Kerala Galaxy Group in collaboration with BMC were distributed by the special guest, Capital Governorate Information and Follow-Up Director Yusuf Yakub Lori.

Later, the master of ceremonies,Praveenkrishna, received the memento from the Second Secretary of the Indian Embassy, Ijaz Aslam. Yusuf Yakub Lori, Director of Capital Governorate Information and Follow-up, presented the memento to Nishakoshi.

Indian Embassy Second Secretary Ijaz Aslam appreciated BMC for its brilliant and profound activities in his opening speech and wished everyone a happy and prosperous Onam.

Yusuf Yakub Lori, Adv. V K Thomas, Vijayan Karumala, MD of One Bahrain Hospitality, Anthony Paulos, and Shravanamahotsavam Gen. Convener Anwar Nilambur felicitated the event with their greeting speeches, and Shravanahotsavam event coordinator Aji P Joy expressed the vote of thanks.

Malayalam fusion dance performed by Prashanth Master’s students of IMAC Cochin Kalabhavan, Chendamelam by Sopanam Vadyakala Sangam, and Thiruvathira performed by Ramantali Association and Navabharat team, followed by songs performed by Bahrain’s leading singers, enthralled the audience. Shravana Mahotsavam Committee members appreciated all the artists who performed on the occasion by giving certificates as a token of appreciation. A mini-onasadya was also arranged for the participants of the event.

The 51-member committee, including Shravana Mahotsavam Committee Chairman Moni Otikandathi, General Convener Anwar Nilambur, Vice-Chairmen Sudheer Thirunilath, Abraham John, Basheer Ambalai, Harish Nair, Aji P Joy, Ajith Kumar, Salman Faris, Amaldev, Mini Roy, Thomas Philip, Rajesh Perunguzhi, Vishnu, etc., organised and led the programme.
