The  Flowers Of Summer

And then there were three…
Atleast known to me —
Gulmohar, Cassia and Bougainvillea.

The trio of Chennai city’s summer heat,
Make a beautiful brightly painted scene,
Each is a gorgeous summer queen,
That helps us beat the scorching scream.

The gulmohar has the scarlet flowers,
That sit like a crown on the wooded towers,
They are vibrant, bright & make the bowers,
Fashioning the trees a pure delight of summers.

Cassia’s golden flowers are a dazzling sight,
Swaying gently in a shower of golden light,
Giving us, the walkers, moments of delight,
And making us feel that everything is alright.

The Bougainvilleas are of colours so many,
Whites, crimsons, magentas are so merry,
Swinging and dancing in the dawn so airy,
O Lord thank you for this memory we shall carry.

This floral tapestry is summer’s embrace,
It is a magnificent blend of heat and grace.

Cuckoos sing from the tree tops with euphoria,
Leaving us the summer time’s memorabilia.

These blooming trees, in splendor dressed,
The beauty of summer, we are truly blessed.

And then there were three…
Atleast known to me —
Gulmohar, Cassia and Bougainvillea.
