Bahrain Keraleya Samajam organized “Pilleronam”

Pilleronam was organized yesterday evening as part of Sravana, the Onam celebration program of Bahrain Kerala Samajam.

The celebration was organized to rekindle the memories of Pillerona, which existed in Onatukkara areas of Kerala since ancient times.

A large crowd of more than 500 children and their parents gathered at the Samajam yesterday. Apart from children’s skits, dances, other games and children’s tug of war, the skit based on Onam, written and directed by Chiku Shivan sir and performed by Manoharan Pavratti, was a hit. Children’s dances arranged by Abhirami and Sarangi were also a great visual experience for the children. The children’s tiger game led by Vinayan was a great Drishya experience. PV Radhakrishna Pillai said that the huge presence of children and parents is proof that the Samajam Onam programs have already been taken up by Bahraini Malayalis.

The Secretary informed that this year the Samaj will organize better Onam celebrations than the previous years and there will be the presence of many prominent artistes.
Harish Menon and Shine Susan moderated the program.

Arts & Cultural Secretary Sreejith Farokh, Pilleronam Convener Rajesh Cheravalli, Shravanam Convener Shankar Pallur etc. led the event.
