ILA Bahrain, takes the lead this Raksha Bandhan day.

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, this year ILA organized a unique workshop with the house-helps on 6th August 2022 . The house helps, under the supervision of ILA President and other volunteers prepared beautiful Rakhis. This was an initiative by ILA to empower the househelps by teaching them a new skill which not only made them happy but also could help them financially. The evening was made even more memorable when house helps sang prayers and songs for their brothers in their mother tongue.

This was followed by tying these handmade Rakhis to the expat brothers in a construction and cleaning camp in Salmabad on 12th August 2022. The ILA ExCom along with the WWSC subcommittee joined the house helps in tying the Rakhis to the brothers in the camp. More than 50 workers were present to celebrate the event. The event was aimed at spreading the spirit of Rakha bandhan which signifies the eternal bonding between brother and sister. The purpose of the event was to make the expat brothers and sisters feel the festival vibes and not miss their families.

The participating house helps were given shopping vouchers (sponsored by LuLu) as a gift from ILA.

Also, on the occasion of our 75thIndependence Day, the laborers participated in singing patriotic songs in their mother tongue and won Lulu vouchers of BD 10.

ILA express their sincere gratitude to the Lulu group for sponsoring the refreshments and sweets for both the events of 6th August and 12th August 2022.
