What to watch this weekend? Are you wondering whether RRR is worth your time?

RRR is a 2022 Indian Telugu-language epic period action drama film directed by S. S. Rajamouli who wrote the film with K. V. Vijayendra Prasad. It is produced by D. V. V. Danayya of DVV Entertainments. The film stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan alongside Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in extended cameo appearances while Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson, Olivia Morris and Shriya Saran play supporting roles.

Starting with the full form of RRR. It’s Rise, Roar, Revolt. The film is package full of big-screen entertainment. The plot is set in the 1920s. It is a “fictional story based on the making of the two legendary freedom fighters – Alluri Seetharamaraju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr. NTR).”

Made on a budget of ₹550 crore (US$72 million), RRR was initially scheduled for theatrical release on 30 July 2020, which has been deferred multiple times due to production delays and followed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, the film was released theatrically on 25 March 2022.

It is a fictional story about two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Rama Rao), who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively. Rajamouli the film’s directed has cast his spell once again after giving humgous hits like Bahubali. He knows how to portray a shot and celebrate every scene and handle his characters with much aplomb and charismatic presentation.

Well supported in the technical faculty by A. Sreekar Prasad’s editing, M. M. Keeravani’s music & BGM, K. K. Senthil Kumar’s cinematography and the VFX which is spot on.

Both Jr NTR and Ram Charan has done a commendable job with their Hindi dubbing.

There are many moments you wouldn’t like to miss in RRR. And some of them are; introductory sequence (Jr. NTR) the song sequence (Nacho-Nacho), the rescue at the river, just before the interval Ajay Devgn’s cameo, climax forest scene etc. Don’t go for the story but for the cinematic experience and you’ll not be disappointed instead you’ll be delighted. The screenplay is tight.

 See you at cinemas !
