Glenn Maxwell’s wedding ceremony hogs limelight
The IPL action is heating up on the field but one event which raised many eyebrows and went viral was Australian Glenn Maxwell’s marriage ceremony which was held in Chennai recently.
Maxwell who is an allrounder for Royal Challenger Bangalore, had already tied the knot with Vini Raman, (an Indian of Tamil origin) a week before in Australia. But it seems Maxwell could not resist the allure of the ‘Fat Indian Wedding’ and an encore was done in Chennai.
It’s the Chennai leg of their wedding ceremony which went viral. The highlight of this was the Varmala ceremony in which the couple exchanged garlands. If one expected Maxwell to be a bit out of place or uncomfortable, there was nothing of happened as the Aussie seemed to have done his homework on the nuances of an Indian wedding.
A decent crowd can be seen cheering as the Indo-Aussie couple seemed to be blissfully happy. Another interesting aspect of the Chennai leg of the wedding was the fact that their wedding cards were printed in Tamil.
Maxwell who is known for his towering sixes, will be missing IPL action for about a week as he is expected to join RCB in their quest for an IPL title.
