THE LIFE OF A STONE

These stones around me were silent and mute,
The eerie silence painted the stone wall with charcoal,
The day I was pushed into, left a fraction of light
Which remained in my eyes as a memory!
These stones around me were silent and mute
Till I heard a feeble soliloquy of a nightingale,
The weakened mortar line spied a distant humming
And a fading foot steps which raised my heart beat.
The mute walls with a stone heart never looked at me,
As the day and night were no different
I ran my fingers on the stones pleading…where my tears dried.,
I was not a thug to imprison me.
Imprisoned for the crime that you are a migrant.
Came the rough voice of the stone walls.
I fail to understand who the land lord and me a migrant,
As I see the same land and sky in the universe,
I was a sculptor back home and
Was chiselling an angel from a stone who is my love,
I am imprisoned among stones now,
Which could have been turned into many Angels!!
The stones around me were silent and mute,
But smuggled a vague brightness into,
He tried to carve his heart on a stone with his sharp nails.
His long nails broke, but the stone wore a bleeding heart ,
The mute spectator lay in wait
As his bones too reduced to dust!
These stones were silent and mute
Untill the pounding foot steps of time Raised a tempest of changes!!
It smashed the corner stone ,
And the tumbled stones of the penitentiary
Roared violently.
The stones around his remains revealed his heart,
The bleeding heart which he had carved to break the silence!
